We are offering an internship at Vanderlande Logistics as an IT Engineer.
We are looking for a junior professional who wants to do his internship in a growing business environment and to be part of our journey to create and shape the digital, automated and sustainable airport logistics of tomorrow.
As an IT Engineer trainee, you will contribute to the performance, stability and reliability of critical IT systems. We will help you developing your technical expertise to support infrastructure, resolve technical issues and help maintaining secure and efficient operations.
What are the responsibilities?
Technical support and issue resolution
- Provide timely and effective technical support, resolving hardware and software issues with a strong focus on service quality.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate complex cases when needed.
- Support the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software components.
System reliability and maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance activities to help ensuring the stability, performance and security of the IT environment.
- Support updates, patches and upgrades in collaboration with the IT team.
- Monitor system performance proactively and take action to reduce recurring issues.
Documentation and knowledge sharing
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for systems, configurations, procedures and support activities.
- Contribute to a practical knowledge base that supports consistent issue resolution.
- Support the creation of technical guides and operational documentation.
Collaboration and continuous improvement
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support reliable and effective technical solutions.
- Work with external vendors when required to resolve issues and maintain service continuity.
What do you need to qualify for this job?
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Interest to learn everything about IT support and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to learn fast and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Relevant IT certifications are considered a plus (e.g., networking, virtualization or security certifications).
- Fundamental knowledge of hardware, software, networking and security.
- Specific knowledge or understanding in the following fields will be valued:
o Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls);
o Linux, including administration and system management;
o Hyperconverged infrastructure and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V);
o Storage technologies (SAN, NAS, backup and recovery solutions);
o Cybersecurity principles (system hardening, patch management, access control, vulnerability management).
